BEIJING : The Embassy of Pakistan successfully hosted the Annual Consuls General Conference 2024, chaired by Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, over two days. Bringing together Consuls General from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, the event focused on reviewing the past year’s achievements and mapping out strategic goals for the future.
The conference featured detailed briefings on consular services, trade, cultural cooperation, and community welfare. Each Consulate presented actionable plans for 2025, aimed at enhancing bilateral trade and investment, improving community services, and furthering cultural and educational ties. These plans highlighted the commitment to deepening Pakistan-China relations.
Ambassador Hashmi commended the Consuls General for their efforts in fostering robust diplomatic and economic ties with China. He emphasized the need for collaborative work among all Missions to maintain the momentum generated by initiatives like B2B conferences and roadshows, in line with Pakistan-China leadership’s strategic vision.
He further urged the Missions to focus on sister-province and sister-city collaborations, leveraging these platforms to strengthen people-to-people connections and cultural exchanges. Highlighting the importance of community service, the Ambassador reiterated the need to uphold the highest standards in assisting Pakistanis living in China.
The conference concluded with a unanimous decision to develop a comprehensive action plan for 2025, aligned with the Ambassador’s guidance. Regular progress reviews, including a mid-year review in July 2025, were also agreed upon to ensure consistent efforts toward achieving the set objectives.
