RAWALPINDI: Malaysian Prime Minister H.E. Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), to discuss bilateral strategic interests, regional security, and defence cooperation. During the meeting, the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties between their nations, particularly in the defence sector.
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for their pivotal role in ensuring regional peace and stability. He lauded their professionalism and the sacrifices made in the fight against terrorism. The Malaysian Premier also emphasized the importance of enhancing military relations and extended an invitation to General Munir to visit Malaysia to further these discussions.
General Munir expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s invitation and noted that the successful visit of the Malaysian leader would further solidify the historic and friendly relations between Pakistan and Malaysia. The COAS also attended the Investiture Ceremony and State Banquet hosted in honour of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim at the Presidency.
