Ashgabat: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties. The informal meeting took place on the sidelines of the international forum “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – Basis for Peace and Development” in Turkmenistan, held to celebrate the 300th birth anniversary of Magtymguly Faragi, a renowned Turkmen thinker, poet, and philosopher.
During the interaction, both leaders exchanged good wishes and expressed optimism about the future of Pakistan-Russia relations, according to a press release from the President’s House. This meeting highlighted the importance of dialogue and cooperation between the two nations on both regional and global platforms.
Earlier, President Zardari delivered a speech at the forum, which was attended by prominent leaders, including the Presidents of Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. His address acknowledged the significance of the event and commended the Turkmen leadership for their hospitality.
