Islamabad : Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb held a farewell meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Mr. Mitsuhira Wada, who has concluded his three-year tenure. During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening the Pakistan-Japan partnership, built upon decades of shared values and collaborative efforts.
Ambassador Wada reflected on the growth of Pakistan-Japan relations, highlighting the two countries’ longstanding history of diplomatic ties since 1952. He noted Japan’s consistent support across various sectors and commended the deepening of economic and cultural exchanges, which he described as a positive trajectory in bilateral relations.
He expressed Japan’s continued commitment to supporting Pakistan’s priorities in sectors like health, education, environment, and water, which he deemed essential for fostering sustainable development. The Ambassador underscored the importance of maintaining these collaborative efforts to address regional and global challenges.
Senator Aurangzeb, acknowledging Japan’s developmental contributions, expressed appreciation for Japan’s role in supporting Pakistan’s economic stability. He emphasized the potential for further cooperation in trade, cultural exchange, education, and other areas that benefit both nations.
The Finance Minister also briefed Ambassador Wada on Pakistan’s economic progress, mentioning the government’s reform agenda and improvements in macroeconomic indicators.
