Islamabad :Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb warmly received Turkish Ambassador Irfan Neziroglu, underscoring the strong historical and brotherly ties shared between Pakistan and Turkiye. He emphasized the mutual commitment to expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and defense, highlighting the untapped potential for elevating bilateral trade volumes.
During the discussion, Senator Aurangzeb fondly recalled his recent meeting with Turkey’s Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek on the sidelines of the World Bank/IMF Annual Meetings in Washington. He emphasized the potential for Pakistan to learn from Türkiye’s experiences, particularly in power sector reforms, and encouraged Turkish companies to explore joint ventures in Pakistan, especially within the IT and agriculture sectors.
Ambassador Neziroglu expressed admiration for Pakistan’s economic reform efforts, commending the resultant stability. He reaffirmed his dedication to strengthening ties further and ensuring that the relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye continues to flourish across multiple sectors.
