Islamabad: The Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has expressed Pakistan’s strong desire to enhance cultural ties with Kazakhstan.
Speaking at an event in Islamabad today for the screening of the film Kazakh Khanate-Golden Throne, he highlighted the numerous commonalities shared by both nations, rooted in their history and culture.
At the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Pakistan, in collaboration with the PNCA leadership, organized a screening of the historical film “Kazakh Khanate – The Golden Throne,” dubbed in Urdu. The event was graced by Pakistan’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, as the Chief Guest. In his speech, Tarar emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural ties between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, highlighting that such events enhance mutual understanding and relations at the people-to-people level.
Ambassador of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Kistafin underscored the ongoing cultural cooperation between the two nations and announced plans to regularly organize similar events in both countries. He also mentioned the intent to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of information this year. The event attracted representatives from Pakistan’s official, business, academic, and creative sectors.
The screening concluded with a standing ovation from the Pakistani audience, who praised the Kazakh actors and noted the cultural commonalities between the two nations. Minister Tarar reiterated Pakistan’s desire to promote cultural ties with Kazakhstan, pointing out the historical and cultural connections shared by the two countries. He stressed the need for greater exchanges in media and culture to foster mutual understanding and diversity appreciation.
Additionally, Tarar reflected on Pakistan’s rich legacy in dramas, songs, and films, which have been celebrated worldwide. He mentioned Pakistan’s ongoing production of a Netflix series in Italy and encouraged the private sector to actively participate in promoting the entertainment industry.
