The President Zardar to Pay an Official Four Days Visit to China at President Xi’s Invitation
Islamabad: The President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, will undertake a state visit to China from February 4 to 8, 2025. The President was invited by the Chinese President Xi Jinping.
He would hold meetings with the Chinese leadership, including President Xi, Premier Li Qiang, and other senior officials in Beijing. The discussions will focus on strengthening Pakistan-China relations, with emphasis on economic and trade cooperation, counter-terrorism and security collaboration, and the advancement of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and future connectivity initiatives. Both sides will also exchange views on regional and global geopolitical developments and cooperation at multilateral forums.
The President will also attend the inaugural ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, at the special invitation of the Chinese government. His participation underscores Pakistan’s expanding engagement with China beyond political and economic domains, reflecting a growing emphasis on cultural and sports diplomacy. The visit is expected to enhance cooperation in diverse fields, further consolidating the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The visit reaffirms the tradition of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China, reinforcing their commitment to deepening the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership. Both sides will reiterate their mutual support on matters of core national interest, accelerate economic and trade collaboration, particularly under CPEC, and emphasize their shared commitment to regional peace, development, and stability amid evolving global challenges.
