Turkish President Erdoğan to Arrive in Pakistan Tomorrow
Islamabad: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is set to arrive in Pakistan tomorrow after completing his visits to Malaysia and Indonesia. A grand welcome awaits the Turkish leader upon his arrival in Islamabad.
According to sources, the Pakistan Air Force’s JF-17 Thunder jets will escort the Turkish presidential aircraft as it enters Pakistani airspace.
During his visit, President Erdoğan is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior political leaders. Both leaders will jointly chair the Pakistan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting, where discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new avenues of collaboration.
Key regional and international issues, including the situation in Gaza and the Middle East, will also be on the agenda.
In recent years, Pakistan and Turkey have strengthened their bilateral relationship, evolving into a sustainable strategic partnership. Cooperation in the defense sector has seen significant progress, with Pakistan acquiring warships and advanced drones from Turkey.
Pakistan has already purchased Akıncı, Bayraktar, and TB2 drones, as well as warships under the MILGEM project, making it the first country to do so. Additionally, both nations are jointly developing a fifth-generation fighter jet, with plans to establish an assembly line for the TFX aircraft in Pakistan.
The visit is expected to further deepen defense, economic, and strategic cooperation between the two nations, reinforcing their long-standing partnership.
