U.S. Embassy Issues Security Advisory After TTP Threat to Faisal Mosque

Islamabad:  The U.S. Embassy in Islamabad has issued a security advisory for U.S. citizens following a threat from Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants against Faisal Mosque. In response, the U.S. Embassy Regional Security Office has prohibited U.S. employee travel to the Faisal Mosque area until further notice.

The advisory urges U.S. citizens to take precautionary measures, including avoiding the area, exercising caution in large gatherings, and reviewing personal security plans. Citizens are also advised to monitor local media for updates, maintain a low profile, carry identification, and cooperate with authorities.

Islamabad’s security agencies have heightened surveillance and deployed additional personnel around Faisal Mosque. Authorities have yet to provide further details on the threat, but precautionary measures are being taken to ensure public safety.
