Pakistan Welcomes President Trump’s Statement on Regional Peace and Kashmir Dispute

Islamabad: Pakistan on Saturday welcomed the recent statement made by U.S. President Donald J. Trump regarding Pakistan-India relations, describing it as a constructive gesture towards regional peace and stability.

In an official statement, the Government of Pakistan expressed appreciation for the role played by the United States, along with other friendly countries, in facilitating the recent ceasefire understanding between Pakistan and India—a development seen as a positive step towards de-escalation in South Asia.

“We acknowledge with appreciation the constructive role played by the United States, alongside other friendly states, in supporting the recent ceasefire understanding between Pakistan and India,” the statement read.

Pakistan also welcomed President Trump’s expressed willingness to support efforts aimed at resolving the longstanding Jammu and Kashmir dispute. The Foreign Office emphasized that the dispute poses serious implications for peace and security in the region and reiterated Pakistan’s stance that any lasting settlement must align with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and ensure the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

The statement further reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to working with the U.S. and the international community to advance peace, security, and prosperity in the region. It also underlined Islamabad’s keenness to further strengthen its partnership with Washington, particularly in areas of trade, investment, and economic cooperation.
