Our Victory Will Be Written in Golden Words: Prime Minister, “No Compromise on Sovereignty”: Army Chief
PASRUR, SIALKOT (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday concluded his visit to Pasrur Cantonment by underscoring Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional stability and military preparedness. Addressing troops and the nation, he termed the recent military victory in Operation Bunyanum Marsoos as a moment of immense national pride, declaring it a milestone that would be remembered in “golden words.”
In the presence of key military and cabinet leadership, the prime minister paid homage to the gallant efforts of Pakistan’s armed forces. He lauded their professional acumen and unwavering resilience in defending the country’s sovereignty during what he called a difficult and unbalanced confrontation. “Not a single inch of our territory was lost. Our men stood their ground and turned the tide of war,” he said.
The prime minister reserved special praise for the Pakistan Air Force’s operational excellence, which he said had stunned observers worldwide. Highlighting the role of advanced weaponry and real-time tactical planning, he noted, “May 9 and 10 will be remembered for the technological brilliance displayed by our airmen.” He attributed the operational success to the combined leadership of General Asim Munir and Air Chief Zaheer Babar Sidhu.
Sharif issued a strong caution to India over its alleged provocations, particularly violations related to the Indus Waters Treaty. He emphasized that any interference with Pakistan’s water rights would be met with force. “We want peace, but if pushed, we will respond with unmatched strength,” he warned, holding Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi responsible for historical and ongoing acts of aggression and destabilization.
Touching upon the broader geopolitical environment, the premier reiterated Pakistan’s dual pursuit of peace and preparedness. He stressed that Pakistan remains committed to dialogue but insisted it must be mutual, just, and rooted in international legal frameworks, especially regarding the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. “We will not entertain backdoor trade or hollow talks. Kashmir must be resolved according to UN Security Council resolutions,” he asserted.
Thanking the armed forces for their cohesion and strategic foresight, Sharif stated that the recent operation had elevated Pakistan’s military prestige globally. “This operation will be analyzed in war colleges. It has become a model of modern warfare in asymmetrical conditions,” he said, adding that the unity between the civilian and military leadership had been crucial to the outcome.
In his final remarks, the prime minister reiterated his call for sincere dialogue, urging the Indian leadership to abandon its confrontational posture. “We extend the hand of peace, but will never accept humiliation or injustice,” he said. “It is time for Modi’s regime to choose between regional peace and reckless arrogance. The people of Pakistan stand united, resolute, and ready—for peace or for battle.”
