Islamabad: Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi held a key meeting with German Ambassador to Pakistan, Alfred Grannas, on Monday to explore avenues for deepening diplomatic, economic, and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
A major focus of the discussion was the modernization and upgradation of Pakistan’s railway system, aligning it with international standards through Germany’s advanced technological expertise. Minister Abbasi reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to learn from Germany’s experience and equip Pakistan Railways with cutting-edge infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality travel for the public.

They underscored the significance of forging joint ventures that could uplift both countries’ economies and deepen bilateral engagement.
Minister Abbasi extended an invitation to Ambassador Grannas to visit the historic Golra Railway Station Museum—an initiative aimed at preserving and showcasing Pakistan’s railway heritage. The Ambassador welcomed the gesture and reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to advancing cooperation, expressing optimism for expanded future partnerships.
