British High Commissioner Calls on Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif

Lahore:  British High Commissioner Jane Marriott called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Lahore, where the two discussed matters of mutual interest and reviewed ongoing cooperation in various sectors including education, investment, climate protection, and governance.

A luncheon was hosted in honour of outgoing Political Counsellor Zoë Ware. On this occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid rich tribute to Ware’s diplomatic services, praising her dedication, integrity, and spirit of partnership during her tenure in Pakistan.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the positive and wise role played by the United Kingdom during the recent escalation in Pakistan-India tensions and expressed appreciation for Britain’s balanced approach.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz offered to further enhance bilateral collaboration in education, trade, investment, environmental protection, and governance. She also lauded Zoë Ware’s commendable contribution to global environmental initiatives, including her role in the Earthshot Prize project.

“Zoë Ware will always be remembered in Punjab as a friend,” the Chief Minister said.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also expressed deep appreciation for the services of British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, stating that the Government of Punjab highly values her efforts and contributions.
