Pakistani Envoy Joins PAD to Mark Guinness World Record for Handprint UAE Flag

Dubai:  Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, along with Consul General Hussain Muhammad, attended a landmark event at the Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD), where the new Guinness World Record for the largest UAE flag made with human handprints was officially announced.

The massive flag, made up of 24,514 individual handprints representing over 100 nationalities, was unveiled during a grand ceremony attended by members of both Pakistani and Emirati communities. Recognized by Guinness World Records, the initiative celebrates the UAE’s diversity and harmony.

The record-breaking feat was the result of a joint effort between Pakistan Association Dubai, Emirates Loves Pakistan, and artist Rubab Zahra, who launched the campaign on April 13 in Al Quoz. The month-long initiative was designed to promote community participation and unity through artistic expression.

Ambassador Tirmizi praised PAD’s leadership and lauded the symbolic value of the artwork. “These are not merely handprints, but heart prints,” he said, emphasizing the deep-rooted relationship between the Pakistani community and the UAE. He also acknowledged the literary work of Pakistani author Khan Zaman for chronicling the legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

In his remarks, Ambassador Tirmizi urged all stakeholders to gear up for an even grander Independence Day celebration this year, following last year’s successful event. Dr. Faisal Ikram, President of PAD, expressed gratitude to the volunteers, calling the achievement a reflection of the spirit of unity that defines the community and aligns with the ‘Year of Community 2025’.
