Pakistan, Turkey Pledge to Deepen Cooperation in Energy Sector
Islamabad: Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik held a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Irfan Naziroglu in Islamabad, during which both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in oil and gas exploration—both subsoil and offshore—as well as in critical minerals.
According to an official statement, the Minister expressed gratitude for Turkey’s steadfast support during the Indo-Pakistan war and conveyed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s appreciation for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s enduring affection for Pakistan.
Highlighting the enduring nature of bilateral ties, Ali Pervez Malik said, “The friendship between Pakistan and Turkey has stood the test of time.” He noted that the Turkish state-owned firm, Turkish Petroleum Corporation, had recently been awarded two onshore exploration blocks in Pakistan.
