President Ilham Aliyev, President Erdoğan, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Visit Lachin Promenade to Mark Azerbaijan’s Independence Day
Lachin, Azerbaijan: President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of the Republic of Türkiye, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan paid a joint visit to the Lachin promenade as part of the celebrations marking Azerbaijan’s Independence Day on May 28.
During the visit, the Turkish and Pakistani leaders were briefed on the significance of the location, where two years ago, President Ilham Aliyev handed over the keys to new homes built for former internally displaced persons who had returned to settle in Lachin following the liberation of the region.
The promenade also hosted a special exhibition showcasing a variety of products from enterprises revitalized or newly established in Lachin. These included goods from the “Lachin” Agro-Industrial Park, “PIRSHAGHI” shoe factory, the local branch of the “Gilabi Ceramics” Creative Center, and the “LATIFA” garment factory. Additional exhibits featured the work of “Baku Landscaping Service,” an essential oil plant, the “Nakhishli” sewing house, the Livestock Breeding Selection Center, and the “Hakari” fishery enterprise.
Dedicated to May 28 – Azerbaijan’s Independence Day – the exhibition reflected the region’s rapid economic revival and the government’s commitment to restoring life in the formerly occupied territories. The high-level visit underscored the deepening trilateral ties among Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Pakistan and highlighted their support for each other in fostering peace, development, and regional cooperation.
