Pakistan Condemns U.S. Strikes on Iranian Nuclear Facilities, Urges Restraint and Dialogue
Islamabad: Pakistan on Sunday strongly condemned the recent U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, following a series of Israeli strikes, expressing grave concern over the potential escalation of tensions in the already volatile Middle East region.
In an official statement, the Foreign Office noted that these strikes constitute a clear violation of international law and reiterated that Iran has the legitimate right to defend itself in accordance with the UN Charter.
Terming the current surge in violence as “deeply disturbing,” Pakistan warned that any further aggression against Iran could have severely damaging implications for regional peace and stability.
The statement underlined the urgent need to protect civilian lives and infrastructure, stressing that all parties must strictly adhere to international law, particularly International Humanitarian Law.
Pakistan also emphasized that the only sustainable path to resolve the crisis lies in diplomacy and dialogue, in full accordance with the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter.
