PM Lauds Progress in Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Joint Intergovernmental Commission

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations, expressing satisfaction over the successful convening of the 5th session of the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Joint Intergovernmental Commission (JIGC).

A high-level delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Edil Baisalov, met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday. The Prime Minister welcomed the signing of the Protocol and several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the two countries, terming them important steps towards enhancing trade, energy cooperation, regional connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.

He reiterated Pakistan’s strong commitment to implementing the decisions made during the JIGC and emphasized the importance of timely follow-up to transform the agreements into tangible outcomes.

The Kyrgyz delegation appreciated Pakistan’s continued efforts in strengthening bilateral ties and expressed confidence that the outcomes of the Commission would pave the way for deeper and more result-oriented cooperation.

Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to work closely for the mutual benefit of their peoples and to maintain active engagement at all levels to further consolidate Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan relations.
