Indian Air Chief’s Claim of Shooting Down Pakistani Jets “Baseless and Comical”: Prof Cheng Xizhong
Islamabad: Senior Research Fellow at the Charhar Institute, Prof Cheng Xizhong, on Sunday strongly rejected Indian Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh’s claim of shooting down Pakistani fighter jets during Operation Sindoor in May, terming it “comical, implausible, and self-amusement.” He noted that India had failed to produce any credible evidence, such as wreckage photos or radar data, while Pakistan had immediately presented comprehensive technical reports and evidence to the international media.
Prof Cheng pointed out that even after more than three months, India has not substantiated its assertions, whereas multiple global assessments, senior Indian politicians, and intelligence sources confirm India’s heavy losses, including six fighter jets and S-400 air defence positions destroyed by Pakistan. He stressed that the facts leave no doubt that no Pakistani aircraft was hit, reaffirming Pakistan’s decisive edge in the confrontation.
