Romanian Envoy Calls on Defence Minister to Enhance Pakistan-Romania Security Partnership

Islamabad:  Pakistan and Romania have pledged to deepen defence ties as the two nations mark 60 years of diplomatic relations. Ambassador of Romania, Mr. Dan Stoenescu, called on Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad on Thursday, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to stronger security and military cooperation. The meeting underscored Romania’s role as a valued European Union member and its growing partnership with Pakistan.

The Defence Minister lauded Romania’s active participation in multinational military exercises hosted by Pakistan, describing it as a reflection of shared dedication to global peace and stability. Both sides discussed enhancing collaboration through closer engagement between defence forces, expert exchanges, and wider interaction among military personnel.

Ambassador Stoenescu acknowledged Pakistan’s vital role as a regional stabilizer and reiterated Romania’s willingness to expand cooperation. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of regular dialogue, visits, and exchanges to further consolidate the bilateral partnership.
