Ishaq Dar, Murat Nurtleu Reaffirm Deep-Rooted Pakistan-Kazakhstan Relations
Islamabad: Pakistan and Kazakhstan on Tuesday reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen their strategic partnership, recognizing the vast potential and opportunities to expand cooperation across multiple domains.
The commitment came during delegation-level talks at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu, who is on a two-day official visit to Pakistan.
In their opening remarks, both leaders unanimously underlined the importance of deepening the time-tested and close relations in trade, economy, connectivity, and other key sectors.
Deputy Prime Minister Dar emphasized that immense scope existed for the two countries to take their bilateral relationship to new heights. He reiterated Pakistan’s strong desire for a robust partnership with Kazakhstan, founded on mutual respect, trust, and goodwill. “Pakistan is a proponent of peace, stability, development, and prosperity in the region and beyond, particularly with the Central Asian states,” he remarked.
Dar also said that one of the key objectives of the dialogue was to finalize the detailed program for the forthcoming visit of Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in November, which he described as an important milestone in bilateral relations.
Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Murat Nurtleu, in his remarks, expressed his country’s readiness to expand mutual engagements and further bring the two nations closer. He described Pakistan as a reliable partner, noting that the bilateral relationship was “time-tested with very deep and strong roots” and carried immense potential for future growth.
Referring to his meetings with Pakistani government officials and business leaders on Monday, Nurtleu said the two sides had meaningful discussions on matters of mutual interest to promote trade and economic ties. He expressed optimism that President Tokayev’s upcoming visit would create new dynamics, inject fresh momentum, and open new avenues of cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
