Chinese Envoy Reaffirms “Ironclad” China-Pakistan Friendship at Mid-Autumn Festival in Peshawar

Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, on Monday reaffirmed the deep-rooted and “ironclad” friendship between China and Pakistan during his address at the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration organized by China Window in Peshawar.

Extending warm festive greetings, Ambassador Jiang conveyed his best wishes for happiness, health, and prosperity to all participants and their families. He described the Mid-Autumn Festival as one of the most poetic and romantic traditional Chinese festivals, symbolizing reunion, harmony, and peace.

“This year’s celebration carries special joy as it coincides with China’s National Day, marking a double celebration for the Chinese nation,” the envoy noted.

He emphasized that in an increasingly interconnected world, civilizational inclusiveness and mutual learning among nations are essential to advancing modernization and enriching global culture. Recalling President Xi Jinping’s vision, Jiang said the China-Pakistan relationship remains resilient and fraternal — built on mutual trust, respect, and shared aspirations for development and prosperity.

Highlighting the achievements of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), he said the initiative has emerged as a strong engine for Pakistan’s economic and social progress. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he cited milestones such as the completion of the first phase of the Rashakai Special Economic Zone, the Suki Kinari Hydropower Station’s first anniversary of commercial operation, and ongoing progress in fiber-optic and transport projects aimed at enhancing regional connectivity.

Ambassador Jiang also lauded cultural cooperation, particularly the China-Pakistan Art Exchange Exhibition jointly organized by the Directorate of Archaeology and Museums of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He commended China Window for its role in promoting a multidimensional and authentic image of China, fostering mutual understanding between the two peoples.

“Wherever the moonlight reaches, there is a sense of home,” he remarked, adding that no matter how the global situation evolves, “the peoples of China and Pakistan will continue to stand hand in hand and heart to heart.”

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Abdul Samad, Provincial Secretary for Culture and Tourism, appreciated the enthusiasm of Pakistanis in celebrating Chinese festivals, describing it as a reflection of the ever-strengthening Pakistan-China friendship.

He extended greetings on behalf of the provincial government and the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the Chinese people, diplomats, and their families on the joyous occasion, expressing best wishes for their continued happiness and prosperity.

The event also featured a colorful cultural performance by local school students, while China Window distributed traditional mooncakes among the attendees to mark the festival.
