National Assembly hosts launch of Azerbaijani book highlighting 2020 Patriotic War

Islamabad: The National Assembly of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Embassy of Azerbaijan, on Wednesday hosted the launching ceremony of the book “The History of the Patriotic War: Personality Factor” at the Parliament House.

Deputy Speaker National Assembly Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov, Ambassador of Türkiye Irfan Neziroglu, Federal Ministers Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Attaullah Tarar, along with Members of the Pak–Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group, Convenor of the Parliamentary Taskforce on SDGs Shaista Pervaiz, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Danyal Chaudhary, and several Members of the National Assembly including Fatehullah Khan, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, Pullain Baloch, and Muhammad Hafeez. Foreign dignitaries and senior officials of the National Assembly Secretariat were also present.

In his address, Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah lauded the time-tested brotherhood and exemplary relations between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, rooted in shared faith, mutual respect, and cultural heritage. He said the Urdu translation of “The History of the Patriotic War: Personality Factor” is a testament to the growing cultural and linguistic cooperation between the two brotherly nations.

Paying tribute to the visionary leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the Deputy Speaker said Azerbaijan has made remarkable strides in national development, economy, education, and diplomacy under his guidance. He particularly praised President Aliyev’s role during the 44-day Patriotic War of 2020, describing it as a symbol of courage, determination, and unity that inspired the entire Muslim world.

Shah reaffirmed Pakistan’s admiration for the bravery and resilience of the Azerbaijani nation, which, he said, had always stood firm in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for Azerbaijan’s position on regional and international platforms and underscored the shared vision of both countries for peace, prosperity, and regional stability.

He appreciated the efforts of the Embassy of Azerbaijan and the Pak–Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group in deepening parliamentary and cultural linkages, expressing confidence that the enduring bond of faith, fraternity, and friendship between the two nations would continue to strengthen in the years ahead.
