Prime Minister Shehbaz hosts dinner for Pakistan, South Africa cricket teams
Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday hosted a dinner in honour of the national cricket teams of Pakistan and South Africa in Islamabad.
The Prime Minister interacted with players from both sides and extended a warm welcome to the South African team on their visit to Pakistan.


“We have excellent relations with South Africa at various levels, and cricket is one of them,” he remarked. “The ongoing series reflects the strong sporting ties and mutual respect between the two nations. South Africa has produced some of the world’s finest cricketers, while Pakistan’s players have made the nation proud with their outstanding performances.”
The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the Pakistan team would continue to display remarkable performances, adding that cricket not only entertains but also strengthens people-to-people connections. “Cricket promotes brotherhood and peace. The true spirit of this game must always be upheld,” he said.

Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting international sports and ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for major sporting events.
The South African players and management expressed gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their warm hospitality, terming the series a memorable experience. They appreciated the passion and support shown by Pakistani fans throughout the tour.
The event was attended by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal, Federal Minister for Interior and PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and senior PCB officials.
