Iran Honors Allama Iqbal, Declares November 9 as ‘Iqbal Day’ in Iranian Calendar

Islamabad: The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, has paid tribute to Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, describing him as a great poet-philosopher whose work reflects both the spirit of Islam and the essence of Persian literature.

In his message, Ambassador Moghadam highlighted Iqbal’s deep affection for Persian literature and his mastery of the Persian language, which built a lasting intellectual bridge between Iran and Pakistan.

“Allama Iqbal’s profound message of unity and faith continues to resonate beyond borders, guiding nations toward dignity and moral strength,” the envoy said. He added that Iqbal’s vision of justice, knowledge, and spiritual awakening remains a timeless beacon for humanity.

The ambassador also noted that Iran honors Iqbal not only as a visionary thinker of Pakistan but as a shared cultural and spiritual figure for the entire Muslim world. He further announced that November 9 has been officially designated as “Allama Iqbal Day” in the Iranian Solar Calendar, reinforcing the enduring cultural and literary ties between the two countries.
