The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea for Science and Technology, Dr. Sung-Chul Shin, visited Pakistan and delivered a keynote address at a Science Diplomacy event organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event was attended by Federal Secretary for Science and Technology, Ali Tahir, Federal Secretary for Federal Education and Professional Training, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and distinguished scientists from various universities.
Additional Foreign Secretary for Policy Planning, Ambassador Israr Ahmed, welcomed the participants and highlighted the critical role of science diplomacy in fostering collaboration between Pakistan and the Republic of Korea. He emphasized how such efforts can drive significant advancements in scientific research and development for both nations.
In his keynote address, Ambassador Shin presented the Republic of Korea’s policies promoting scientific research and innovation, showcasing their contribution to Korea’s remarkable economic development. He outlined Korea’s strategic integration of scientific progress into its economic growth plans, offering a model for other countries.
Ambassador Shin also participated in a focused dialogue at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with Pakistani scientists, researchers, and policymakers. Representatives from leading Pakistani institutions engaged in discussions about potential collaboration in scientific research and innovation. Secretary Ali Tahir and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs joined the session, reinforcing the commitment to enhancing bilateral scientific cooperation.
