PLA founding anniversary celebrated at Pakistan’s GHQ

Rawalpimdi: The 97th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China was celebrated at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today.

His Excellency Mr. Jiang Zaidong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan, was the Chief Guest. Major General Wang Zhong, Defence Attaché, Chinese Embassy officials, and officers from Pakistan’s tri-services attended the event.

General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), welcomed the Chinese guests, congratulated the PLA, and lauded its contributions to Chinese defence, security, and nation-building. He emphasized the exceptional and enduring nature of Pakistan-China relations, built on mutual trust and unwavering support.

The COAS highlighted the strong ties between the Pakistan Army and the PLA, emphasizing their ongoing bilateral military cooperation, which exemplifies the iron-clad brotherhood between the two nations.

The Chinese Ambassador expressed gratitude to the COAS for hosting the event, acknowledging the sacrifices of the Pakistani military in countering terrorism and contributing to regional peace and stability.

He reiterated China’s commitment to working with Pakistan to combat terrorism, affirming that the iron-clad friendship and brotherhood between the two militaries remain unbreakable.
