Islamabad :The flag hoisting ceremony at the Indonesian Embassy in Pakistan on Saturday marked the 79th Independence Day of Indonesia, with Chargé d’Affaires Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma leading the event. The ceremony was the culmination of various pre-events aimed at fostering unity, mutual respect, and patriotism among the Indonesian community in Pakistan.
The event witnessed the participation of embassy officials, their families, the Indonesian diaspora, and distinguished guests, including religious leaders, journalists, and business representatives. A moment of silence honored Indonesia’s national heroes, followed by the reading of the proclamation of independence and prayers for the country’s continued prosperity.
The Embassy’s Flag Hoisting Team, composed of Indonesian students, proudly raised the national flag as the anthem “Indonesia Raya” played, symbolizing the spirit of independence. Chargé d’Affaires Kusuma expressed his gratitude to the attendees and highlighted the strong bonds between Indonesia and Pakistan, emphasizing their shared values and friendship.
In recognition of academic excellence, a group of Indonesian students in Pakistan was honored with certificates of appreciation. The Chargé d’Affaires also extended an invitation to all present to visit Indonesia and experience its rich culture firsthand, promoting the upcoming Indonesian Expo 2024.
The ceremony concluded with a reception featuring Tumpeng, a traditional Indonesian dish, fostering camaraderie among the attendees and celebrating the significance of the day in true Indonesian spirit.
