Ali Pervaiz Leads Pakistan Delegation at St. Petersburg International Gas Forum 2025
St. Petersburg, Russia: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik is currently visiting the Russian Federation to attend the 14th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum 2025 (SPIGF).
During the visit, the Minister led the Pakistani delegation and held a series of high-level meetings aimed at boosting bilateral cooperation in the oil, gas, and minerals sectors.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry, Minister Malik highlighted Pakistan’s energy sector reforms and investor-friendly policies at a plenary session titled “Gas Market 2025–2035: New Contours in a Fast-Moving Environment.” The session focused on Pakistan’s comprehensive energy sector transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
In key engagements, the Minister met with Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom, to discuss collaboration between Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Gazprom. Meetings were also held with senior representatives of Rusgeo, the Russian Geological Survey Company, and Nedra Digital, an AI-based energy firm, to explore opportunities for Russian investment in Pakistan’s mineral and energy projects.
On the sidelines, Minister Malik held discussions with Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye, focusing on trilateral and regional cooperation in the energy sector.
The Minister also extended a formal invitation to international investors for the upcoming Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum, reaffirming the country’s commitment to becoming a leading global destination for natural resource investments.
