Islamabad : The Embassy of China in Pakistan hosted a prestigious awarding ceremony on Friday to honor 43 outstanding Pakistani staff members who have significantly contributed to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. The event celebrated their commitment and dedication to fostering cooperation and progress within the CPEC framework, a cornerstone of the China-Pakistan partnership.
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, while addressing the gathering, underscored the importance of fostering practical cooperation between the two nations. Highlighting the favorable opportunities for development, he noted that the economic recovery in both countries has paved the way for advancing the high-quality joint construction of the CPEC. Ambassador Jiang also stressed the pivotal role of high-level strategic guidance from the leadership of both nations in bolstering mutual confidence and aligning efforts toward shared goals.
The ambassador lauded the solid foundation of China-Pakistan cooperation, emphasizing that the achievements of the CPEC have laid the groundwork for an upgraded version of this transformative initiative. He expressed readiness to work with Pakistan in pursuing high-quality development, enhancing security coordination, and diversifying cooperation to include both landmark infrastructure projects and smaller livelihood initiatives. Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, and senior Chinese officials, including Chen Shuai from the National Development and Reform Commission and Zhou Bo of the China Chamber of Commerce in Pakistan, attended the event. Their presence underscored the strong bilateral commitment to deepening economic ties and fostering mutual growth.
