COAS Asim Munir Calls on Egyptian President el-Sisi, Reaffirms Pakistan-Egypt Strategic Ties
Cairo, Egypt: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, called on President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi at the Itihadia Presidential Palace in Cairo on Saturday.
During the meeting, both leaders discussed matters of mutual interest and reaffirmed the long-standing friendship between Pakistan and Egypt.
Field Marshal Asim Munir lauded Egypt’s leadership for its key role in maintaining peace and stability in the region, while President el-Sisi appreciated Pakistan’s positive and proactive contributions to global and Muslim Ummah affairs.
Both dignitaries emphasized enhanced coordination on strategic issues and underscored the importance of strengthening people-to-people linkages. The talks also focused on expanding cooperation in socio-economic development, technology, and security sectors.
The meeting concluded on a warm and cordial note, with both sides expressing confidence that closer economic and security collaboration would contribute to peace, stability, and prosperity in Pakistan, Egypt, and the broader region.
