Rawalpindi :Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters on Wednesday. Both leaders held meaningful discussions on regional security, mutual cooperation, and matters of shared interest, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement.
The COAS reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its long-standing defence relations with Russia, highlighting the importance of collaboration in defence and security. The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in multiple domains, emphasizing the need for continued engagement.
During the meeting, Overchuk lauded the Pakistan Armed Forces for their significant role in combating terrorism and their relentless efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region.
