Baku: The COP29 Azerbaijan Operating Company has officially handed over the Baku Olympic Stadium’s Blue Zone to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), signaling the completion of a key phase for the upcoming climate summit set to take place from November 11 to 22. This handover underscores the readiness of the venue to host the critical conference, which aims to address pressing climate issues.
The Blue Zone, a secured area exclusively accessible to UNFCCC-accredited participants, will serve as the central hub for official sessions, negotiations, side events, and press conferences. Equipped with 39 pedestrian checkpoints, 35 registration desks, and 132 delegation offices, the Blue Zone is designed to ensure seamless participation and interaction among delegates from around the world.
For added convenience, dedicated shuttle services will operate between key transport hubs and the venue from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, with reduced service extending beyond 10:00 PM. Delegates can also use the Digital Transport Map to plan their journeys, offering real-time information on routes and facilities, ensuring smooth logistics throughout the conference.
