Cultural Diplomacy: Pakistan and Kazakhstan Expand Cooperation in Arts and Heritage

Islamabad: Pakistan and Kazakhstan have agreed to expand cooperation in arts and culture, with special emphasis on fashion and music. The understanding was reached at a meeting on Friday between Advisor to the Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division Usman Shah and Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin. Both sides expressed resolve to deepen cultural exchanges and promote people-to-people contacts.

Ambassador Kistafin said Kazakhstan is finalizing a roadmap for cultural collaboration with Pakistan, which will be shared soon. He noted that fashion and music offer vibrant opportunities to strengthen bilateral ties. He also revealed that Pakistan’s Ministry of National Heritage and Culture had suggested producing a joint film to showcase the shared cultural heritage of the two countries.

Usman Shah highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding relations with Kazakhstan and stressed the importance of cultural and educational cooperation in building stronger ties. He briefed the envoy on the Department of Archaeology and Museums (DOAM) and Pakistan’s efforts to promote its Buddhist heritage through 3D films.

The Kazakh ambassador invited Shah to visit Kazakhstan to meet fashion designers and explore avenues for collaboration. Shah accepted the invitation and assured support for promoting Kazakh culture in Pakistan through active participation of Pakistani artists.
