deputy PM Chairs Meeting to Review Strategy for Strengthening Trade and Economic Diplomacy with EU

Islamabad:  Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday chaired a high-level meeting to review Pakistan’s strategy for advancing trade and economic diplomacy, particularly with the European Union (EU), one of the country’s key trading partners.

The meeting discussed ways to deepen Pakistan’s economic and trade engagement with the EU and identify new avenues for cooperation to enhance market access and investment opportunities.

Minister for Commerce, Minister for Law and Justice, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary, and Secretaries of Commerce, Law, Environment, Human Resource Development, Human Rights, and Information attended the meeting. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Brussels and senior officials from federal and provincial governments also participated.

Chairing the session, Senator Dar emphasized the importance of adopting a proactive approach to economic diplomacy and aligning national efforts to boost exports, attract foreign investment, and strengthen Pakistan’s economic footprint in Europe.
