Rawalpindi: Deputy Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Alexander V. Fomin, met with General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), Chief of Army Staff (COAS), at the General Headquarters (GHQ) today.
The meeting focused on the regional security environment and shared interests in enhancing bilateral defense and security cooperation, with both sides acknowledging the importance of a strong partnership in tackling regional challenges.
COAS reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its defense ties with Russia, and both leaders underscored their resolve to strengthen collaboration across various defense and security areas.
Colonel General Fomin lauded the Pakistan Army’s efforts in combating terrorism, highlighting the need for a unified global approach to address extremism and ensure regional stability.
