Economic Diplomacy: Ambassador Abdul Hameed Inaugurates Pakistan Pavilion at Japan’s Leading Sports Expo
Tokyo: The Embassy of Pakistan in Tokyo, in collaboration with the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), facilitated Pakistan’s participation in SPORTEC 2025-Japan’s premier exhibition for sports, wellness, and fitness-held from July 30 to August 1, 2025.
Seven prominent Pakistani companies showcased a wide range of export-quality products, including sports goods, athletic wear, and wellness-related items, reflecting the country’s growing capabilities in non-traditional export sectors.
The Pakistan Pavilion was officially inaugurated by H.E. Abdul Hameed, Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan. In his remarks, the Ambassador appreciated the efforts of Pakistani exporters and highlighted the critical role of such international platforms in promoting Pakistan’s economic diplomacy. He emphasized the need for increased business-to-business (B2B) engagement to enhance Pakistan’s trade footprint in high-value markets like Japan.
“Participation in SPORTEC 2025 demonstrates Pakistan’s commitment to diversifying its export base and building lasting trade partnerships through proactive economic diplomacy,” said Ambassador Hameed.
The event served as a valuable opportunity for Pakistani businesses to connect with Japanese buyers, distributors, and stakeholders in the global fitness and wellness industry. Visitors to the pavilion expressed strong interest in Pakistan’s high-quality and competitively priced products.
This initiative aligns with the Government of Pakistan’s broader trade strategy aimed at boosting exports, exploring new markets, and promoting sustainable economic growth. It also reflects the country’s active efforts to elevate its presence in technologically advanced economies through trade diplomacy and export-led growth.
