Karachi: Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, the Special Envoy and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Pakistan, has inaugurated the Honorary Consulate of Ethiopia in Karachi. This move is set to further solidify the burgeoning bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and Pakistan, highlighting Karachi’s pivotal role as a business and cultural hub.
Addressing the gathering, Ambassador Abdula extended his congratulations to H.E. Ibrahim Tawab, the newly appointed Honorary Consul of Ethiopia in Karachi. He emphasized that the consulate’s opening is expected to significantly boost trade relations and enhance people-to-people contacts between the two countries. Abdula also acknowledged the Ethiopian Embassy’s contributions to Pakistan’s Look Africa and Engage Africa policies, noting recent milestones such as the establishment of the Ethiopian Mission in Islamabad and the introduction of Ethiopian Airlines in 2023.
On this occasion, Honorary Consul Ibrahim Tawab underscored Ethiopia’s vast business, trade, and investment opportunities. He commended Ambassador Abdula for his vision in promoting stronger trade ties between Pakistan and Africa, marking a new chapter in the bilateral relations.
