First Batch of 300 Agriculture Graduates Completes Training in China; PM Shehbaz Thanks Chinese Leadership
Islamabad: The first batch of around 300 Pakistani agriculture graduates has successfully completed their hands-on practical training in China, marking a major milestone under a bilateral initiative to strengthen agricultural collaboration between the two countries.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement on Friday, expressed his pleasure over the development. “Very heartening to know that the first batch of around 300 Pakistani agriculture graduates have successfully completed their hands-on practical training in Shaanxi Province, China,” he wrote on his official account on X (formerly Twitter).
The prime minister highlighted that the graduates received practical training in key agricultural areas, including water-saving irrigation, seed production, animal husbandry, agricultural production, and prevention of post-harvest losses.
He thanked the Chinese leadership, the provincial government of Shaanxi, and the two partnering universities for their generous support and cooperation in making this programme a success. He also appreciated the contributions of Pakistan’s Ministry of National Food Security, the Higher Education Commission (HEC), and the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing for their coordinated efforts.
This training programme is part of the broader initiative announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to China in June 2024, which aims to train 1,000 Pakistani agriculture graduates in advanced farming practices and technologies.
