Karachi:Ambassador of Ethiopia to Pakistan, Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, met Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori on Tuesday to discuss avenues for strengthening bilateral, regional, and multilateral cooperation. The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration in sectors such as aviation, education, health, science, and technology.
Dr. Jemal shared details of Ethiopia’s Home Grown Economic Reforms Programme, aimed at addressing macroeconomic challenges, boosting productivity, and creating an investor-friendly environment. He also highlighted vast business and investment opportunities in Ethiopia’s key sectors, including agriculture, agro-processing, manufacturing, tourism, and ICT.
Governor Tessori briefed the ambassador on skill development initiatives at the Governor House, designed to equip Pakistani youth with modern technologies and enable them to secure sustainable livelihoods. He emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to its Look Africa and Engage Africa policy.
The ambassador appreciated the Governor’s efforts to empower the youth and lauded Pakistan’s proactive approach toward fostering ties with Africa. He acknowledged the pivotal role of Ethiopian Airlines in connecting Pakistan with the African continent and promoting economic integration.
The meeting concluded with both leaders expressing optimism about strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new areas of cooperation. They reiterated their commitment to forging partnerships that would benefit both nations and their people.
