Riyadh: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi paid a detailed visit to Saudi Arabia’s Directorate of Passports and the King Fahd Security College, marking a significant step towards enhancing Pakistan-Saudi Arabia collaboration in security and governance. During his visit to the Directorate of Passports, the Minister was warmly welcomed by Acting Director General Major General Dr. Saleh Al-Murabaa and was briefed on the state-of-the-art technologies employed in the Saudi passport system. He appreciated the advanced measures in place for passport issuance, fraud prevention, and the efficient operation of modern call centers, announcing plans to replicate these innovations in Pakistan to improve citizen services.
At the King Fahd Security College, Minister Naqvi was received by Director General Major General Dr. Ali Al-Daij and toured various departments of the institution. He commended the college’s Master’s programs in Artificial Intelligence, Leadership Management, and Security Studies, which he described as exemplary and well-suited to addressing modern security challenges. The Minister also lauded the institution’s comprehensive five-year strategic plan and proposed exchange programs to facilitate knowledge-sharing between the two nations, including study tours and training for graduates from both countries.
Minister Naqvi highlighted the importance of Saudi expertise in addressing key challenges, such as document forgery and system modernization. During discussions with Saudi officials, he proposed collaborative measures to detect and prevent passport fraud, emphasizing the need for robust systems to curb such incidents within Pakistan. He further noted that initiatives like e-gates and advanced call centers could significantly improve service efficiency and security in Pakistan.
Concluding his visit, Minister Naqvi called the King Fahd Security College a “global leader in addressing modern security issues” and praised Saudi Arabia’s innovative vision for governance and education. The engagements reflect Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Saudi Arabia and adopting cutting-edge practices to enhance institutional frameworks in security and public service.
