Interior Minister, UK NCA DG Discuss Police Training, Human Trafficking and Cyber Crime
Islamabad: Pakistan and the United Kingdom have agreed to deepen collaboration in key areas of law enforcement, including police training, extradition, immigration, and combating human trafficking.
The understanding was reached during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Director General of the British National Crime Agency (NCA), Graeme Biggar, in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Both sides also agreed on the early finalization of five memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to facilitate cooperation in extradition and related matters. The meeting further focused on enhancing joint training programs for officers from various Pakistani agencies, including the Anti-Narcotics Force and the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency.
The two sides emphasized the importance of effective coordination in tackling online harassment of children.
Speaking on the occasion, DG NCA Graeme Biggar condemned the recent suicide attack in Islamabad, expressing grief over the loss of lives. He also lauded Pakistan’s efforts in narcotics control and highlighted the United Kingdom’s ongoing support for Pakistan across multiple fields.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan remains an example of perseverance against terrorism globally. He added that modern training and advanced forensic capabilities could further strengthen the country’s law enforcement agencies.
