International Delegates Arrive in Islamabad for Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference 2025

Islamabad: The arrival of international delegates continued in the federal capital on Tuesday ahead of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference (ISC), being hosted by the Senate of Pakistan from November 11 to 12.

The Secretary-General of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States (PUIC), Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass, was among the first dignitaries to arrive. He was warmly received at Islamabad International Airport by senior officials of the Senate of Pakistan.

Parliamentary delegations from Mauritius, Russia, Syria, and Lebanon also landed in Islamabad to participate in the two-day global forum. The Mauritian delegation is led by Member of Parliament Mohamed Eshan Juman, while the Russian delegation is headed by Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council O.A. Belyakov. Members of Russia’s upper house of parliament are also part of the visiting team.

A Syrian parliamentary delegation led by Dr. Muhammad Taha al-Ahmad, Chairman of the Supreme Elections Commission, and a Lebanese delegation comprising Jihad al-Samd and Ibrahim al-Moussawi, will represent their respective countries at the conference.

In addition, a high-level delegation from the World Mission Headquarters has also arrived to take part in the event. The delegation includes Seung Yeon Doo, Director General of the World Mission Headquarters; Masaichi Hori, Advisor for the Asia-Pacific region; Kajikuri Masatate, Director of Mission; Motoyama Katsuyoshi, Deputy Director of the Planning Department; and Hyun Sup Do, Chair of the Human Resources Development Institute.

The UAE delegation is led by the Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council, accompanied by members of the Emirati Parliament.
The Philippine delegation is headed by former President and Member of Parliament Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
Senior officials from the Senate of Pakistan received both delegations at Islamabad International Airport.

Later, the Regional Adviser of The Washington Times also reached Islamabad to attend the global parliamentary gathering.

The Ghanaian delegation is led by Deputy Speaker Andrew Asiamah Amoako and includes senior officials from Ghana’s Parliament. The Belarusian delegation is headed by Member of Parliament Sergei Aleinik.
Both delegations were received at Islamabad International Airport by senior officials of the Senate of Pakistan.

The upcoming conference, themed “Peace, Security and Development,” aims to promote inter-parliamentary collaboration, strengthen international cooperation, and foster interfaith dialogue. Senior officials from the Senate Secretariat welcomed all visiting dignitaries at the airport.

The gathering is expected to serve as a milestone in advancing global peace, mutual understanding, and parliamentary diplomacy.
