Islamabad Hosts Multinational Military Conference
Islamabad: Pakistan on Saturday hosted the Regional Chiefs of Defence Staff Conference in Islamabad, bringing together senior military leaders from the United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan in a significant multilateral engagement aimed at advancing regional security cooperation, military diplomacy, and strategic dialogue.
Held under the theme “Strengthening Bonds, Securing Peace,” the high-profile conference focused on enhancing defence collaboration, improving joint training mechanisms, and sharing best practices in counterterrorism and regional security efforts.
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), formally welcomed the distinguished defence delegations and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to regional peace, stability, and constructive military engagement.
“In an era defined by transnational threats and complex hybrid challenges, the imperative for deeper military-to-military cooperation, strategic dialogue, and mutual trust is paramount,” said General Munir. “Pakistan remains fully committed to working with partner nations to build a secure and prosperous regional environment.”
The conference featured in-depth discussions on regional security dynamics, the evolving strategic landscape in Central and South Asia, and the need for coordinated counterterrorism efforts, joint training programs, and humanitarian cooperation during crises.
Participating countries reaffirmed their shared commitment to peace, respect for national sovereignty, and combating common threats such as terrorism, cyber insecurity, and violent extremism.
Delegates also lauded Pakistan’s leadership and hospitality in hosting the conference and commended its initiative in promoting inclusive and forward-looking defence diplomacy.
This multilateral convergence underlines Pakistan’s enduring commitment to a secure, interconnected, and cooperative regional framework, grounded in mutual trust and shared strategic interests.
