Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Meets ICCI President and executive members to Boost Investment
Islamabad: Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan, Yerzhan Kistafin, visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and held a productive meeting with ICCI President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi and executive members to explore avenues for strengthening bilateral trade and investment. The Ambassador emphasized Kazakhstan’s status as Pakistan’s largest trade partner in Central Asia and highlighted the vast potential for economic cooperation, according to a press release issued on Thursday.
Ambassador Kistafin termed April as a crucial month for bilateral engagements, citing key meetings such as the Joint Working Group sessions on IT, communication, and agriculture, a Regional Connectivity Session, an Online Commerce Ministers’ Meeting, and a Joint Intergovernmental Commission Meeting. He underscored these initiatives as vital steps toward unlocking trade and investment opportunities between the two nations.
The Ambassador referred to Pakistan Business Council research, stating that bilateral trade volume could be significantly increased to $14 billion. He identified IT, agriculture, sports goods, textiles, and pharmaceuticals as key sectors for collaboration. ICCI President Qureshi welcomed the Ambassador’s visit, reaffirming ICCI’s commitment to enhancing business-to-business (B2B) engagements and calling for streamlined visa procedures and frequent interactions, including virtual meetings, to facilitate economic growth.
The meeting was attended by Senior Vice President Abdul Rehman Siddiqui, former President Mian Shaukat Masood, and executive members, including Ms. Fatima Azim, Irfan Chaudhry, Naveed Satti, Chaudhry Nadeem, and ICCI President’s senior advisor Naeem Siddiqui. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening economic cooperation through trade partnerships, investment initiatives, and cultural exchange programs.
