Islamabad : Ambassador Amna Baloch on Wednesday took charge as the 33rd Foreign Secretary of Pakistan, succeeding Ambassador Syrus Sajjad Qazi, who retired after a distinguished career. A seasoned diplomat, Baloch has held several key positions, including Pakistan’s Consul General in Chengdu, China, High Commissioner to Malaysia, and most recently, Ambassador to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
With a Master’s degree in History and over three decades of experience in the Foreign Service, Ambassador Baloch is known for her adept handling of diplomatic challenges. Her extensive experience across Asia and Europe is expected to bolster Pakistan’s foreign policy as she steps into her new role.
