Malaysian Envoy Visits AJK to Strengthen Trade and Investment Ties

Mirpur: The High Commissioner of Malaysia for Pakistan, Dato’ Mohammad Azhar bin Mazlan, visited the Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) Mirpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) for economic cooperation and business investments discussions. He was accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission Mohd. Syafik Firdaus bin Hasbullah and warmly welcomed by the members of the MCCI, past presidents, and local dignitaries.

Ambassador Dato’ Azhar appreciated the Government of Pakistan and Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for their focus on agriculture and mentioned that there is a great scope of collaboration in the area of agriculture.


MCCI President Umar Shehzad informed the delegation about the region’s conducive investment environment and welcomed Malaysian investors to explore business opportunities in AJK. Promotion of trade relations in palm oil, rubber, education, and infrastructure development between the two countries were also discussed.

In expressing appreciation for the hospitality, Ambassador Dato’ Azhar commended the economic cooperation promoted by MCCI. The meeting concluded with the exchanging of souvenirs representing the strengthening of bilateral business relations between Malaysia and AJK.
