Ministers of Pakistan, Jordan, UAE, Türkiye, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt urge swift implementation of Gaza peace plan
Islamabad : Foreign Ministers of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Egypt have welcomed the steps taken by Hamas regarding U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to end the ongoing war on Gaza and release all hostages, both alive and deceased.
In a joint statement issued on Sunday, the Foreign Ministers said that the move provides a genuine opportunity to achieve a comprehensive and sustainable ceasefire while addressing the dire humanitarian crisis faced by the people of the Gaza Strip.
The ministers also appreciated President Trump’s call on Israel to halt the bombing campaign and to begin implementing the proposed exchange agreement. They commended his commitment to establishing lasting peace in the region.
The statement further welcomed Hamas’s announcement of its readiness to transfer the administration of Gaza to a transitional Palestinian Administrative Committee comprising independent technocrats. The ministers urged for the immediate start of negotiations to agree on mechanisms for the implementation of the proposal and address its various aspects.
Reaffirming their collective commitment to peace, the Foreign Ministers pledged to support efforts aimed at ending the war on Gaza and achieving a comprehensive agreement that ensures the unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid, prevents displacement of Palestinians, and safeguards the security of civilians.
They underscored the importance of ensuring the release of hostages, the return of the Palestinian Authority to Gaza, and the unification of Gaza and the West Bank. The statement also called for a security mechanism that guarantees the safety of all parties, facilitates Israel’s full withdrawal, and paves the way for Gaza’s reconstruction and a just peace based on the two-state solution.
