Musadik Malik, Canadian Envoy Discuss Sustainable Development and Green Growth

Islamabad: Canadian High Commissioner to Pakistan called on Federal Minister for Petroleum Dr Musadik Malik and discussed new avenues of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Canada.

During the meeting, the High Commissioner expressed deep sorrow over the recent terrorist attack on the Cadet College in Wana.

Dr Malik thanked the Canadian government for its cooperation in the import of Canadian canola oil. Both sides discussed matters related to social welfare, sustainable economic development, and environment-friendly agriculture.

It was noted that the Canadian Commercial Commission could provide goods and services to Pakistan under Government-to-Government (G2G) cooperation.

Dr Malik appreciated Canada’s global leadership on climate issues. The meeting also reviewed future joint projects and investment opportunities.

The minister highlighted that the establishment of green clusters in Pakistan aims to promote youth innovation and green startups.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and developmental partnership between Pakistan and Canada.
