Islamabad : The National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) organized an awareness and advocacy workshop focused on maritime affairs for media personnel in Islamabad. Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed attended as the Chief Guest, highlighting the significant role media plays in modern society and commending NIMA for its efforts in raising awareness on maritime issues.
The workshop aimed to enhance the knowledge of media professionals regarding Pakistan’s maritime affairs, emphasizing the connection between the maritime economy, often referred to as the Blue Economy, and national security. Participants from various media outlets were provided with insights into the importance of accurate and responsible reporting on these critical issues.
Vice Admiral (Retd) Ahmed Saeed HI(M), President of NIMA, discussed the strategic importance of the Blue Economy, focusing on sustainable development and the effective use of ocean resources. He outlined NIMA’s efforts in promoting this economic model, which prioritizes environmental sustainability alongside economic growth.
